About AIM

Mission Statement

To provide opportunities to increase our skill level and knowledge of underwater photography and video techniques in a friendly and supportive environment.

Guiding Principles:

  • Have fun!
  • Remain independent of any specific club or dive shop.
  • Maintain an informal and friendly atmosphere.
  • Collaborate among fellow club members and experts in the fields of photography and videography to provide an expanding imaging forum.
  • Network with other organizations with similar interest in underwater imaging.
  • Encourage other local divers with an interest in underwater imaging.
  • Hold supportive in-club competitions.
  • Participate in local, regional, national, and international competitions as a conduit of challenging our unique talents and skills.
  • AIM was established in 1999 with the focus of providing support to underwater photographers and videographers in the greater Sacramento/Sierra Foothills area. Our mission has been to grow our photography and video capabilities through presentations by our members and guest speakers and networking with other area photographic organizations. Group dive outings to both cold and warm water destinations provide additional opportunities for members to learn and hone varying techniques while simultaneously increasing our content portfolios. Our annual Film Festival, generally held in August, provides a platform to display members’ work and compete for publication in the printed club calendar. Membership is open and we thrive on diversity; from first-time image makers to seasoned professionals – we have a home for you here!
